LUMBER PRICES
Although lumber prices had been reasonably stable, in the last few years shocks to the supply chain combined with increasing demand to cause lumber to soar to nearly triple its “normal” price.
After the initial shockwave pricing subsided, in December 2021 lumber prices started to rise again, indicating that we can no longer count on the historical stability of pricing.
For home builders this creates a problem, especially for those who pre-sell their homes at a fixed price with no escalation clause.
To deal with this, I offer:
- Tactics to help mitigate against lumber price increases
- A software tool to walk home builders through the process of protecting themselves from wild upswings
To learn more, please contact me for an overview of the mitigation technique and the software tool.
